Welcome to the Social Self Lab!

Our lab group conducts research on processes at the intersection of the self and social relationships. Broadly speaking, we focus on how people think about who they are as individuals in the context of close interpersonal bonds. Specifically, we investigate how people's self-perceptions change - or stay the same - as a function of the experiences they have and motivations they possess in romantic relationships, friendships, familial relationships, and work relationships.
We also conduct research from the reverse perspective: by examining how people's self-perceptions influence how they think, feel, and behave in their relationships.
Please feel free to explore our lab website to learn more about the people involved and the projects we have going on.
Thanks for stopping by!
